Excerpt & Giveaway: One Night Wife by Ainslie Paton

Con artist meets charity fundraiser in One Night Wife by Ainslie Paton, and we’ve got the first chapter right here! About the book Chapter 1 Was she desperate enough to stand on a barstool in a crowded pub and ask for money? Finley Cartwright sipped her second Midori Sour and considered the state of her desperation and the amount of courage that was contained in a green cocktail. She hadn’t meant to overspend on their new Dollars for Daughters website, or be the cause for her stressed business partner, Lenny Bradshaw, showing up for work that morning with her shirt on inside out. Now they had to choose between paying for their gorgeous, new, electronic home or the rent on their pokey, made-of-old-bricks office. The charity was supposed to be Fin’s way out of waitressing and sweating on her agent finding her a TV commercial or getting a callback after an […]

After you’ve dipped your toes in, scroll down to the end for an awesome giveaway! About the book Chapter One Jake Stand up straight. Stare dead ahead. Smile at your sister. Jake McGinnis watched his sister, Carina, sway to the music. Her fiancé of only five minutes brushed a lock of hair behind her ear and wiped away the tears from her still-flushed cheeks. But they were happy tears. Which meant Josh Graham was a lucky man. As long as Carina’s fiancé kept a smile on her face, he was allowed to live. “Look how happy your sister is, Jake. I’ve never seen her so in love,” his mom said. Though Jake towered over Lucrezia McGinnis by at least eight inches, he would always be her little boy. It wasn’t […]

Excerpts: The Hunt for an Alpha tour, featuring Bitten Under Fire by Heather Long and Wolf of Her Own by N.J. Walters

We’ve got a double-whammy for you today! As part of the Hunt for an Alpha tour, we have excerpts from two new wolf shifter books: Bitten Under Fire by Heather Long and Wolf of Her Own by N.J. Walters! Excerpt Cottonmouth and cracked lips woke Bianca. Her eyelids weighed a ton, and her knuckles burned. Then the twinges along her back added insult to injury. Awareness following discomfort, Bianca jerked as her eyes opened. Beeping machines, a hiss of oxygen, dim lighting, and a swaying sensation all surrounded her. “Hello there,” an unfamiliar voice greeted her. The woman who appeared in her line of sight wore a uniform, her blonde hair perfectly tucked and pinned. “I’m Corpsman McGinnis, and you’re aboard the USS Seahawke. Do you know your name?” “Bianca,” she began, but the word came out strained and choked. Coughing, she closed her eyes and grimaced. “Easy, take a sip of […]

Excerpt & Giveaway: Screwed by Kelly Jamieson

What happens when your best friend gets divorced, and his ex-wife comes to you? Find out in Screwed by Kelly Jamieson! About the book Excerpt Their eyes locked together. Cash went very still, his hand on her back, warm and strong. “What?” Callie slid off the stool, her body brushing against Cash’s, went onto tiptoes, and touched her lips to his. “Sex,” she whispered. “I need sex.” She gripped his T-shirt in both hands and pulled herself closer, pressing against him. He sucked in a sharp breath, and his hands went to her hips. “Callie…” Her eyes drifted closed, and she pressed her mouth to his. “Mmm.” A groan rumbled in his chest as she licked his bottom lip, then kissed him again. And he kissed her back, his mouth opening. He took control of the kiss immediately, and her knees went weak. She clung tighter to him as her head […]

Review & Excerpt: Stripped by Tara Wyatt

The Faerie Queen’s review I think I’ve found a new niche: men in uniform. I thought it was just sports uniforms, but it seems I’ve got a thing for cops and firefighters, too. In this one, it’s a cop show, with two undercover detectives partnered up after a mind-blowing one night stand. She’s determined to prove herself, while he’s a grumpy man who admits to finding his attraction to her overwhelmingly distracting. The sparks were flying. Clothes were flying, too. I liked Brooke and Sawyer separately, with both showing dedication, intelligence, confidence, and humour. But together, they were incredible. The chemistry was off-the-charts, and there was a generous helping of heat without overshadowing the plot and characters. You know you’ve got a good romance when you’re squirming in your seat just as much as the heroine! But they also had their deeper and sweeter moments. Under his gruff exterior, Sawyer […]

Excerpt: Royal Service by Leslie North

Happy release day to Royal Service by Leslie North! We’ve got a bit of a taster for you today, and then you can immediately pick up the book through one of the links if you want to continue. First, here’s a bit more about the book, and don’t forget to enter the giveaway at the end! About the book Excerpt King Phillip Gregory Humbert Alcott knelt beside his favorite vintage Indian motorcycle, grease coating his hands, and wished he could stay there forever. Or better yet, finish fixing it up and then just ride off into the sunset. Unfortunately, the sun’s current angle in the mid-afternoon sky put the kibosh on that plan—not to mention the gaggle of women halfway down the drive, any one of whom he was supposed to marry. Phillip loosened the rear axle nut with a grunt, putting more effort into it than was strictly necessary. A strand of […]

Review & Excerpt: One More Round by Lauren Helms

The Faerie Queen’s review You may remember I listened to the first book in the Gamer Boy series, Level Me Up, last year. I called it a sweet romance, though on the tamer side for New Adult romances. I also said it nicely laid the groundwork for more books in the series, and I was right! As I hoped at the time, this second book focuses on Morgan’s friend Gia and Dex’s teammate Simon, who just so happen to know each other already. Gia has a secret, which only Simon happens to know, and it’s coming for her. The first quarter of the book was a bit awkward. There was some recapping of the previous book in terms of some of the plot, but not a lot about the characters themselves, so it took me a while to remember who everyone was and what the dynamics were. The blurb of this […]

Excerpt: Succubus Lips by Lina Jubilee

Happy hump day! 😉 We’ve got a little bit of taster to share with you today of a new reverse harem series starter Succubus Lips by Lina Jubilee! First, here’s a bit more about the book, and don’t forget to enter the giveaway at the end! About the book Excerpt In the library, my bare ass against some dusty volume of Descartes, his thick hands cupping me from below. Him nibbling on my ear, my hands threaded through his wavy, dark brown locks. Why, oh why, do my thoughts inevitably drift to that night…? I had to stop myself from dwelling on him too long. “I often find myself having such thoughts about that night, too. Though I certainly make no point of dismissing them.” That was why. That was Zander’s voice in my head—leader of the Renegades, traitor of the Veras team, all-around hunk but a little too aware of that. Having […]

Review & Excerpt: The Bride Takes a Groom by Lisa Berne

The GingerSnap’s review It is a well-known fact that I love me some historical romance, especially when it involves heroines doing the wooing; marriages of convenience that involve hot, hot sex; and strong family dynamics. Therefore, this book checked every box for me. I’ve been in a major reading slump lately, so I’ve been having trouble sticking with novels that are too detailed or involved. Therefore, this book was perfect. Despite Hugo’s huge family (which includes one hilarious parrot named Señor Rodrigo), each character had their own distinctive personality, making it easy to tell apart all his siblings. I also loved how obvious Hugo’s affection for his family was. He will do absolutely anything to help them, and despite his mother’s difficulty handling the family finances, he doesn’t admonish her– rather, he just sets out to make things right so she no longer has to carry such a burden. He […]
