A Month in Review: January 2019

Another month has come and gone, and now it’s time for some reflection! It’s been while since we’ve done this, I’ll admit. The grand plans I had for the blog got a bit derailed in 2018, but that’s ok. It’s just me, the Faerie Queen, this month, as the GingerSnap has gone on a grand adventure with her OTL to New Zealand. She’s reading like a boss, but we’ll give her a chance to settle, yeah? What I read I read 10 books in total in January, half of the 20 I read this time last year. But work has been crazy, and I’ve been extra social on top of that (friends and dating and tutoring). I might be behind schedule for my Goodreads challenge of 150 books, but I’m not too worried. I’m picking up momentum and getting back into audiobooks, too. Of those books, 7 were romances. That doesn’t […]

A Month in Review: March 2018

Sports Romance Month is over, Easter has descended, and we are ready for April and Alphas vs. Betas! But let’s take a moment to recap March… What we read The Faerie Queen I hit the 50-book mark on the final day of March! I’m super proud of myself, and part of my wants to revise my reading goal from 120 books for this year, but I’ve decided against it so as not to put more pressure on myself. ANYWAY. I read a few really good books this month, as well as some more meh books. If I had to rank them from best to worst, they’d look a bit like this… The Hating Game by Sally Thorne Kulti by Mariana Zapata Rugby series by L.H. Cosway and Penny Reid Hurts to Love You by Alisha Rai At Any Price by Brenna Aubrey Make Me Want by Katee Robert A Princess […]

A Month in Review: February 2018

Another month has come and gone, and now it’s time for some reflection! What we read The Faerie Queen My month began with an Audible binge of the Room Mates series by Kendall Ryan, as you can get all four of the main books for one credit! (I have since managed to arrange an Audible Romance package even though I’m in the UK…shhhh.) I really enjoyed all of them, although the second made me feel a bit icky. I also read the second book in the Hijinks Harem series by Tate James and C.M. Stunich, but it was a bit too much of the same for me, so I don’t think I’ll be continuing the series. I had two winners in The Bastard’s Bargain by Katee Robert and Ball Peen Hammer by Lauren Rowe, followed by a definite no for me with Seared by Suleikha Snyder (who accidentally found the review […]

A Month in Review: January 2018

Another month has come and gone, and now it’s time for some reflection! Links in this post will take you to Amazon. Buying through these links helps us to keep LiatoF running, so thank you so much in advance! What we read The Faerie Queen I only read a few pure romance books this month, though I’m including some of the romance + genre books I read as well. As for straight romance, I read Trouble with Gold by Melinda Dozier, Elements of Mischief and Elements of Ruin by C.M. Stunich and Tate James, Withering Hope by Layla Hagen, and His Outback Nanny by Annie Seaton. Of these, my favourite was Withering Hope, which I listened to addictively on audiobook. I think I have an unexplored love of survival stories. Other books I read that were romance but also genre-y were The DUFF by Kody Keplinger (YA contemporary), Lions and Tigers and Boys by Tawny Stokes […]
