Hiya, and welcome back! Today, we’re giving you a little taste of Fractal by Rachel J. Mannino! First, here’s a bit more about the book, and don’t forget to enter the giveaway at the end! About the book Excerpt Anna grabbed Brendan from behind, wrapping her arms around his shoulders. As she caught her breath, she peered up at the ship. The air smelled like soda, lots of sticky sweet soda. Stairs and ladders traced the entire length of the tube, spiraling down to the base. The lights were no longer visible, since they formed the base resting on the grass. Markings engraved the metal from base to tip. There were no flags, no words of any language she knew. “Wow,” exclaimed someone from behind her. It jarred her from staring at the rocket. The townspeople around her were pulling out their cell phones, taking pictures and recording videos. “Come on.” Anna twisted […]
The Faerie Queen’s review My first introduction to Cindi Madsen was also my first introduction to sports romances, with Anatomy of a Player, and it was the start of a beautiful friendship. I thought this one started a little awkwardly. For one, I don’t think I totally grasped who the hero would be from the blurb, though it makes looking at it now. Just to clarify for y’all, 12 Steps to Mr. Right centres around Savannah Gamble, a blogger turned dating coach, whose bad experience with a guy in college set her on the path to creating a 12-step program for women to meet long-term relationship prospects. However, her program comes into question when she runs into said Bad Experience, Lincoln Wells. Former baseball player Linc has too many red flags for her to genuinely consider, but the chemistry between them is hard to ignore. Savannah must fight to stay […]
The Skeptic’s review DNF @ 10% Wow what the eff happened there. Not only was there some TRIGGER WARNING rape-esque scenes in the first 10%, but it moved SO quickly. I honestly had no idea what was happening or supposed to be happening because I was so caught off guard by how awkward this whole situation was. Then there were quotes like this: “In the bright light of her living room he was devastating, a god, a wet dream on steriods.” Keep in mind she has known him for 0.000001 second by this point of the story because at that point, we are still in chapter one. I couldn’t take any of this one seriously and I could not continue past the rape-esque scene so I am DNFing it. I would recommend this book to… Absolutely no one

Hiya, and welcome back! Today, we’re giving you a little taste of Terra Nova by Christine Hart! First, here’s a bit more about the book, and don’t forget to enter the giveaway at the end! About the book Excerpt Faith appeared with four glowing green drinks in a cup holder tray. Clear plastic cups, lids, and straws let the liquid inside glow through. It looked like something that would spawn ninja turtles. “These are the Incinerator’s own toxic spills. They’re just vodka and sprite with a capful of that crap they put in glow sticks. Did you know you can drink that shit?” Jonah reluctantly took a plastic cup. “Are you sure we should drink it?” “It’s not going to kill us. No more so than the alcohol.” Ilya picked up a cup and took a long generous pull on his straw. I took an experimental sip. It tasted like vodka and sprite. […]

Welcome to Love in a Time of Feminism! This is a new community blog dedicated to romance books of all kinds. I, the Faerie Queen, wanted a place to put all of my sexier romance reviews, as they didn’t quite fit in with the rest of the reviews on my YA book blog. After reading The Replacement Crush by Lisa Brown Roberts, I also wanted a place to celebrate romance with other readers, all while being a strong, independent feminist to the core…who just so happens to enjoy a little Kindle chemistry. What can you expect to come? Well, hopefully lots of steamy reads! I’m also hoping you guys will want to join me in filling the blog up with your hotter reading material. Plus, I’m hoping to host occasional readalongs and book clubs where we can focus on certain subgenres of romance. If you want to join me in my heart-pounding mission, […]
