I also happen to have an assignment due tonight, but I must first scramble together my supplies so that I may join my fellow adventurers on this endeavour. What is #TheReadingQuest? #CharacterInterview: Emma from EDITING EMMA by Chloe Seager

#CharacterInterview: Emma from EDITING EMMA by Chloe Seager

Yesterday, a fun-tastic book was born…Editing Emma by Chloe Seager! Emma started a private blog after being ghosted by a boy from school, and in it she chronicles her attempts to sort her life out. It’s hilarious throughout, gross in parts, and embarrassingly relatable. You can read my review of Editing Emma here! But why are we here today? Well, now that her private blog is not so private, I wanted to ask Emma a few questions. Read on for camel heads, mini bites, and life advice! In conversation with Emma Why did you decide to start your blog? At first, […]

#BookReview: KISSING MAX HOLDEN by Katy Upperman

#BookReview: KISSING MAX HOLDEN by Katy Upperman

This was not a light and fluffy contemporary. Nope. This was filled with drama and angst and everyone making mistakes, not just the teenagers. Cheating was a big part of this book, which ordinarily would have been a big no for me. I don’t know what exactly it was that convinced me to read this, but it wasn’t easy at all. In fact, given just how much cheating played a part, I’m surprised I made it through at all. However, the book portrayed it as a definitely not okay thing to do, and that helped me to appreciate it for […]

#BookReview: THE EPIC CRUSH OF GENIE LO by F.C. Yee

#BookReview: THE EPIC CRUSH OF GENIE LO by F.C. Yee

Three words I’d use to describe The Epic Crush of Genie Lo? Kickass. Snarky. Nostalgic. I should probably throw in the whole Own Voices aspect to, as Yee is a Chinese American writing about a Chinese American. Genie was a freaking badass. She was ambitious and determined and she lived off kicking other people’s asses in everything she did. I found myself relating to her, especially teenage me with my extra snarkiness. I liked her voice, how it wasn’t overly girly, which a male writer could have fallen into the trap of. I really enjoyed reading this. Genie having a personality […]

#BookReview: THE DRAGONS OF NOVA by Elise Kova

#BookReview: THE DRAGONS OF NOVA by Elise Kova

The Dragons of Nova is the second book in the Loom Saga, so spoilers ahead if you haven’t read the first book, The Alchemists of Loom. You can find my 4.5* review of that here. And before I get started, I want to reiterate that this series is not Young Adult. Air Awakens, Kova’s first series, was YA, but this one goes further with its violence and …sexual… content, so it is firmly in the Adult camp. Here’s the TL;DR version of this review: if you liked The Alchemists of Loom, you will love The Dragons of Nova. The Dragons of […]
