She didn’t look at her watch to see how long it was taking. The point was, she made it. She puffed her way up the final incline, which felt more like a mountain, tried to tell herself, Gorgeous sea view, and failed. Maybe it was the black spots that were swimming in her vision. She bent over from the waist to haul in a few precious breaths and focused on not being sick. When she stood up again, she saw him. He’d just run the stairs from the beach. She […]

I hugged my belly to keep myself from squealing or jumping up and down. It was perfect. And too good to be true. “Why are you doing this?” I asked. “I need to rent the place, and you need a place to stay. I’m doing it for the money.” “Because you obviously need more of that.” “Everyone needs more money. That’s what money does.” He dug his hand in his back […]

Excerpt: For the Sake of His Heir by Joanne Rock

First, here’s a bit more about the book, and don’t forget to enter the giveaway at the end! About the book Excerpt Brianne was busy scooping up another snowball, scraping red gloves through the foot of accumulation on the wooden deck. She’d traded her wool cape for a red down parka and boots. A gray knit cap was pulled low over her eyes, her ponytail covered with snow and hanging bedraggled over one shoulder. His loafers would be ruined, but he had no intention of leaving the aggression unanswered, especially after he’d heard that laughter of hers. Had she moved on from their earlier disagreement? Or simply found an outlet for her frustration with him? He’d thought dinner would smooth things over between them, […]

Review & Excerpt: The Bastard’s Bargain by Katee Robert

The Faerie Queen’s review This is the sixth book in The O’Malleys series, but the first I’ve read. That maaaay have been a mistake. I thought it might be like other romance series, where there are references to some previous characters and events, but the story itself is contained for the most part. Nope. You are better off reading this as part of a series, as I learned when I was completely confused for the first chapter or two. Even once I’d gotten into this story, there were references to other characters and previous events that kept me from fully enjoying the narrative. That being said, I did actually enjoy this! This is one for those of you who like organised crime families, darkness, and power plays. The relationship between Dmitri and Keira can be very aptly described as love-hate, with all that anger and attempts to control each other infused […]

Nic had to be about fifteen feet long, and that wasn’t including his long, powerful tail, which was tucked around him. He rose on his back legs and released his wings. The spread had to be at least double the size of his body. Nic was a dragon. She shook her head. Impossible. Nic. Was. A. Dragon. She’d had sex with a dragon. She was in love with a bloody dragon. How was this even possible? Then she remembered what Nic had told her about Dent and how the group he belonged to wanted to capture him and drink his blood. She […]

Excerpt: On the Edge by Dani Collins

If hate-to-love is your kinda romance, we’ve got an excerpt from a new fiesty romance: On the Edge by Dani Collins! First, here’s a bit more about the book, and don’t forget to enter the giveaway at the end! About the book Dani Collins shares fast facts! The working title for On The Edge was Uphill Battles. Glory is a romance author, like me! Also like me: she’s sarcastic, an introvert, and swears a lot. Glory writes a no-room-at-the-inn Christmas romance called Blessed Winter. You read it as you read On The Edge. My husband calls it ‘a book within a book.’ Murphy, the dog that Rolf’s brother brings to the lodge and leaves with him (against Rolf’s will!) is real. My brother-in-law rescued him two years ago. The name Blue Spruce Lodge is in memory of my grandmother. She loved Blue Spruce trees. (And romance novels, as do I!) Excerpt “I’m saying […]
