Interview
Describe your book in 30 words or less.
A dark and gritty romance that will stay with you long after you finish reading and make you question everything you thought about loyalty, love, and family.
What would you get arrested for?
Hm, that’s a good question. What “would” I? There are so many things I could have gotten arrested for growing up – but I’m too wise to admit them.
Who was your favourite character to write and why?
I have to say honestly that ALL of my characters have touched me in different ways, but the heroine from TOUCHED BY LOVE (The Remingtons), Janie Jansen, is one character that possesses strength beyond anything I can even imagine. She’s right up there on the top of the list.
Why do you write contemporary romance? Why do you think it’s an important genre?
I do think romance is an important genre. Love is important in life, whether with friends or lovers, and writing romance gives me a chance to create amazing worlds with strong heroes and heroines that have depth and real-life responsibilities. It allows me to write books I’d want to read.
What books did you enjoy when you were younger that later on influenced you as a writer?
I was a ravenous reader in all genres, and I think every book I’ve ever read influenced me. This will probably seem cliché, but TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD probably influenced me the most, because it was such a deep story about looking beyond what you see visually.
