First Chapter: An Unsuitable Lady for a Lord by Cathleen Ross

This is your reminder that today is a Thursday. And your reward for making it this far through the week is the first chapter from An Unsuitable Lady for a Lord by Cathleen Ross! About the book Chapter One Edinburgh, 1811 Friday evening When the wild Scottish wind swept Lady Crystal Wilding’s straw bonnet from her head, she didn’t expect it to fly, complete with ostrich feathers, right into the hands of the most compelling gentleman she’d ever seen. He leaped with masculine grace, snatched the offending black hat from the air, and, on seeing its owner, bowed deeply. His thick, dark hair and perfectly trimmed sideburns had not been mussed by the leap, and the first thing she noticed was the amusement in his midnight blue eyes. He was exquisitely attired in a double-breasted black tailcoat, tan breeches, and black leather shoes. His cream silk cravat was tied superbly in […]

About the book Book trailer Excerpt More weight disappeared, and he let out a laugh. “Missed the hell out of you Stitches.” “That’s hard to believe since I haven’t heard a word from you since you left for college.” “I knew if I kept in touch, I never would’ve been able to stay way.” Confusion clouded her eyes and he knew the sooner he could manage the overdue explanation he owed her, the better. “Now that were going to be around one another from time to time, I hope we have a chance to get reacquainted and talk about what happened all those years ago.” Emily stroked the […]

Review, Excerpt, & Giveaway: Brazen and the Beast (The Bareknuckle Bastards #2) by Sarah MacLean

Review, Excerpt, & Giveaway: Brazen and the Beast (The Bareknuckle Bastards #2) by Sarah MacLean

The Faerie Queen’s review I cannot be objective about this book at all. It really hit too close to home for me to not be completely swept away by it, and it consumed me. I loved the first book, and I didn’t think Sarah would let me down, but I also didn’t think it would be possible for me to love this book even more. We were introduced to Beast, AKA Whit, in Wicked and the Wallflower as Devil’s half-brother and fellow Bareknuckle Bastard running Covent Garden. He isn’t much of a talker, communicating much like a teenage boy in grunts and monosyllables. Our heroine is a new but immediately incredible character, the Lady Henrietta, or Hattie. She pushes him out of a moving carriage after kissing him in the first few pages! Hattie is, in some ways, very similar to Whit, not concerned with finery, caring about her employees, and […]

Review, Excerpt, & Giveaway: The Kissing Contract by Amy Andrews

The Faerie Queen’s review Who would have thought bunnies would be so effective at driving a plot and bringing two people together. I sure as hell wasn’t expecting it, and yet here I am, madly in love with Marshall and Gus as a couple, and as individuals. All thanks to a few bunnies doing what they do best on an island without predators. For a book with ONE penetrative sex scene, this was one of the hottest books I’ve read this year. The tension between Marshall and Gus was off the charts. And it shows that shoving it in is not actually necessary for a good time. My lordy. These two. We’re kept waiting for that one scene, but all the build-up was delicious. That being said, I would have still welcomed more. Other people (and rabbits) were going at it a lot more than these two, and that’s completely unfair to them and […]

Review & Giveaway: Courting Kate by Tori Kron

Review & Giveaway: Courting Kate by Tori Kron

The Faerie Queen’s review I have to admit, I wasn’t sure if I was going to end up enjoying this one. I was seduced by the cute cover, but when I started reading, I found myself not liking Kate or Miller. Kate was pretty insecure in a bitter way and generally needed to chill, while Miller was inconsiderate enough to jeopardise Kate’s job. We can pretend that there was a fair deal in place – Kate helps Miller woo Stella, while Miller helps Kate with her boss – but Miller only stood to gain something while he effectively blackmailed Kate, since she would actually lose her livelihood. So Courting Kate had an uphill climb to get me on its side. But it did slowly climb that hill as Miller showed a deeper, kinder side and Kate softened. They balanced each other out, and I almost thought the whole thing was orchestrated by […]

Excerpt & Giveaway: He’s a Brute (Tough Love #1) by Chloe Liese

Happy release week to He’s a Brute by Chloe Liese! This one is for those of you who like the alpha male athlete meets fierce female trope. Scroll down for a playlist, a giveaway, and an excerpt certain to get you revved up! (It certainly had me wanting more…) About the book Excerpt Her eyes caught candlelight like gemstones. Jade. Emerald. Glittering dark. She drank her whiskey and hummed while she scanned the menu. We needed to talk, because I’d told myself I wasn’t touching her until I knew more, and I couldn’t go much longer without contact. “I ordered ahead,” I said. “Prix Fixe.” She glanced up at me. “You just ordered without my input? What if I don’t like what you chose?” I shifted in my seat until our knees knocked. Better. “Without your input, yes. But I certainly considered what I thought you’d like.” She stared at […]

Excerpt & Giveaway: A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair

Today, I’m bringing you more of the Hades and Persephone retelling A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair! Enjoy an excerpt to get you excited, then enter the international giveaway at the end! About the book Excerpt Persephone sat in the sunlight. She’d chosen her favorite spot at The Coffee House, an outdoor table just out of view of the shop’s window. Shade trees and box gardens teeming with purple aster and pink and white sweet alyssum lined the crowded pedestrian street. A light breeze carried the scent of spring and the honeyed air was mild. This was her season. She should have felt more relaxed. But her eyes drifted to a bunch of narcissus flowers that sat in a slender vase on her table. It was a sparse bouquet, and one flower’s petals were crisp and brown, curling like the fingers of a corpse. The narcissus were the flower […]

And you—you were loud enough that we probably cleared out the entire resort.” He grins at me, then rolls off the bed and starts across the room, giving me a view of his muscly back and behind. Those are some seriously tight shorts. No, Libby! Do not focus on his taut buttocks! You are not that kind of girl. “I’m very sorry, but I’m afraid I […]

About the set Excerpts Hunted “Get undressed,” Oryn broke through my thoughts, letting go of my arm and pulling at my sleeve. “Hey.” I slapped his hand away. “Don’t manhandle me. Understand? And no one is taking my clothes off but me.” And Nero, it seemed. Crap. “Sharlot, this—” “It’s Scarlet.” I rolled my eyes. “Your garments carry your scent and will slow us down. We need a distraction.” My pulse was racing as I looked back, praying the wolves weren’t close. Oryn stood there, his gaze wild. Yet mine dipped down his body because I had zero control. Oh, sweet heavens. He was bigger than Nero in the downstairs department! “Hurry. Later you […]
