Reading the blurb, I thought the book was going to be science fiction, given how Matty meets an alien. But regardless of who or what Priya is, this really was more of a contemporary, mainly delving into Matty’s life, particularly his family and how he and his mom feel about his dad leaving them the day the book starts.
