Release Day Excerpt & Giveaway: Millionaire B&B by Robin Daniels

Happy Friday! Oh lovelies, I am so excited for it to be Friday. January was a very long, very intense month. I got some reading done, but work fried my brain, so I have no reviews to show for it…yet. But it’s February! And I have a new release to tell you about!!! Today, I’ve got an excerpt from Robin Daniels’ first adult romance! Robin has written a number of sweet and funny YA romances, but she’s venturing into a new domain now. I hope you’ll all join me in welcoming her into the community. Plus, to celebrate the release, there’s a giveaway for a $25 Amazon gift card and a signed paperback at the bottom! About the book Excerpt “What’ll it be?” I looked at Miles after grabbing Ethan’s beer and a Diet Coke for myself. “What do you have?” I leaned over and hung on the refrigerator door, […]

Review, Excerpt, & Giveaway: Lera of Lunos by Alex Lidell

Review, Excerpt, & Giveaway: Lera of Lunos by Alex Lidell

The Faerie Queen’s review The series is now over! Last year, I discovered reverse harem, and one that stood out to me was Alex Lidell’s Power of Five. You can read my reviews of Power of Five, Mistake of Magic, and Trial of Three to see how this series kept delivering just what I wanted! And not just beautiful, colourful covers. Remember when the trials were Lera’s biggest problem? Well, the final trial was nothing in comparison to the real struggle introduced in Trial of Three. There were basically two tense plot scenes: the final trial in the first quarter and the showdown at the end. I honestly had no idea how that final showdown would work out, and I was pleasantly surprised with how it turned out, even though one point was a bit …convenient. (I have questions, m’kay.) You’re probably then wondering what was going on in the middle of those […]

Review & Giveaway: Game All Night by Lauren Helms

The Faerie Queen’s review Link and Ruby finally have their story. All that bickering is coming to fruition. Hallelujah. Do you know when you can see a car wreck coming, and time slows down? You can’t look away? That’s what reading this book was like. In a good way of course. But also a sort of terrible, angsty way. You see, both Link and Ruby are dating other people at the start of this book, and both of those relationships are not ideal. Link, on the one hand, is with someone only superficially interested in him. That’s easy enough to understand, right? He wants Amber because he doesn’t want anything serious. (Also, he totally wants Ruby from the beginning, let’s not kid ourselves.) And she wants Link (or should I say, “Lincoln”) because he’s rich and famous. Whatever. I get it. I won’t judge. What’s harder for me not to […]

Review & First Chapter: I Bet You by Ilsa Madden-Mills

Review & First Chapter: I Bet You by Ilsa Madden-Mills

The Faerie Queen’s review First thing’s first, this book is clearly dedicated to me. You can read the dedication in the Amazon preview, and there you will find a description of me. Second, this gif basically sums up my expression over and over during this book. Here are just a few of my creepy grin triggers… Being a romance novel, the most important aspect is the relationship between the hero and heroine. Well, this book had me on edge. The chemistry. It was insane. And they didn’t dooooo anythinnnnggggg for ages except stare at each other and have intense silences and sparks and uuuughhhhh. My heart. Every time I thought they’d actually act on the very palpable attraction, they’d Do The Right Thing. Ryker was a damn boy scout, really. Even when he messed up, he was quick to apologise and try to make things right. Aside from The Secret, they were […]

Review: A Princess’s Duty by Sloane Murphy

Review: A Princess’s Duty by Sloane Murphy

The Faerie’s Queen review Before I get into my review, here were my reasons for reading this book: That gorgeous cover. I am obsessed with it. The fierce profile with the flames just work. I am nicknamed the Faerie Queen. This is for a reason. Because I love everything fae. Obvs. Forbidden love between a royal and a non-royal. What is a Hunter? Is this a human hunter? Is it a special sort of fae? So I had expectations, and I had questions. But here’s the thing… it didn’t work for me, and I could sense that pretty quickly. In fact, I DNF’d at 12%. Here’s why… First of all, this book should come with a handful of trigger warnings. It’s got murder, threats of rape, emotional abuse, and physical abuse all within the prologue and first chapter. There were also just so many inconsistencies and things that confused me. Why would […]

Review & Giveaway: Trial of Three by Alex Lidell

The Faerie Queen’s review I am straight-up addicted to this series. Alex can’t write these stories fast enough. You can read my review of book 1 and book 2 if you need to see why. Let’s first talk about the plot, and then I’ll get to the boys, yeah? Well, this might be the most exciting of the series so far. I loved the first, and then the second was a little less thrilling, but things ramp up this time round. It’s been discovered that Lera is more powerful than anyone gave her credit for, but she has no control over that power, something crucial for her to survive the trials. But it’s no longer just the trials that she has to worry about, as danger from the outside – particularly Mors – is catching up on the new quint. And while there are hints of malice from the Lunos […]

Review: A Nordic King by Karina Halle

Review: A Nordic King by Karina Halle

The Faerie Queen’s review Once again, Karina Halle proves why she’s an autobuy author for me. I have loved every single book I’ve read by her since I was told to read Smut two years ago. Plus, her covers are always beyond sexy and just pop. Right from the start, this was giving me The Sound of Music vibes. A young woman (26) gets a job as a nanny for a grumpy older widower’s (40) children, and she brings life and joy back to the household. There was even (really bad) singing. As a fan of TSOM, I was completely ok with this connection. Of course, there were some differences. For a start, the widower in this case was the king of Denmark, and he didn’t use whistles to communicate with his two daughters. In fact, Aksel loved his girls and was very affectionate with them… when he saw them. And the nanny […]

First, find and rescue three marines. Second, make sure his men got out alive. Mission failed. On all accounts. Major Dylan James Sarich closed his eyes tight, trying to erase the memories. But even if he could make the images disappear, he’d never be able to stop hearing his men, good men, scream while being tortured. The smell of burnt flesh lingered in his nostrils. It had been four weeks since he’d woken up in a hospital in Germany, having no idea how he’d gotten there. Now he sat in the back of a small, private jet, donated […]

I purred, and the vampire’s heart started pumping. The panther snapped his head toward the vampire lord and bared his teeth in a half-snarl. I hadn’t been mistaken. The panther heard the vampire’s heartbeat as well and he wasn’t thrilled. The vampire stumbled back, clutching his hand over his heart. An instant later, he realized his own reactions and quickly removed his hand from his muscled chest. His expression became unreadable once again. He stepped toward me aggressively and stopped a foot from my cage. I didn’t back down, […]

Excerpt & Giveaway: Stealing Tranquility by J.L. Weil

It’s time for a lazy Sunday, and also to celebrate this week’s release of Stealing Tranquility by J.L. Weil! Because you should know by now that this Faerie Queen is a reverse harem junkie. I’ve got an excerpt from you, plus the chance to win a $10 Amazon gift card at the end, so start scrolling! About the book Excerpt Zade moved so he stood just slightly in front of me as if protecting me. Odd. Did I need protection from Jase? “Just making sure our little gem doesn’t get herself in trouble.” Zade cocked his head to the side. “Isn’t that what we agreed on?” The tranquility-breathing dragon stood inside the arched doorway, glaring at Zade with a mean scowl—his eyes so dark they almost appeared black. “Yes, but that doesn’t include you seducing her.” “Since when do you meddle in my extracurricular activities?” Zade challenged him, with an edge […]
