Ladies and gentlemen, this is why I read Joanne Macgregor’s books. I’ve previously enjoyed her other stories, like Scarred and the Recoil trilogy, but I think this might actually be her finest novel. Ever the Hunted took me on an unexpected ride, and I’m not sure how I’m supposed to just wait patiently for the next book. I’m not a patient person. I have to commend Summerill for making me absolutely convinced of a few things early on, then blowing my theories to bits later.
